How do braces and support work?
Supports are medical aids that can relieve and prevent pain in muscles, tendons and joints, due to overuse, for example. Unlike pain-relieving medication that is administered to the body, supports are applied externally and are better tolerated as a result.
Long-term companions – medicines, ointments, tapes – are all disposable. However, your support only needs to be washed regularly to ensure it works well consistently.
What is the function of the knitted fabric?
The compression knit encloses your body elastically but tightly. When you move, your muscles alternately tense and relax creating a massage effect, promoting the circulation and healing areas subject to excessive strain.
In addition, the close-fitting knitted fabric activates the sensors on your skin and in tissue. These sensors send information about your posture and spatial movement to the brain, and the brain then sends information back to the muscles to correct your posture and improve coordination.
What is the function of the gel pad?
On the one hand, the function of the gel pad is to reduce the compression pressure of the knitted fabric at the bony protrusions, while on the other hand, it changes shape with muscle movement and increases the massage effect of the knitted fabric.

I was given a collar n cuff sling on discharge from hospital following fractured radial neck and greater tuberosity. Nasty uncomfortable thing. I did a bit of research and discovered I needed to keep my shoulder at about 15 degrees abduction and found I could order this online. I’m at 9 weeks post fracture now and mostly go without splint but when it aches too much I put it on get rapid relief. I understand that the health system may not have the budget to provide one but fail to understand why I was not given to option to buy one in the first place. I thoroughly recommend this splint.
